Three bedroom, three bath, dream getaway home, just a 90 minute drive north of Anchorage, AK. It sits on 1.22 acres, on the bank of the Susitna River, known as the Big Su. The parcel and home are within a private, gated area with access for other parcel owners only. The home provides a direct view of Denali, which is North America’s tallest mountain at 20,310 feet, as well as Mt. Foraker, at 17,400 feet. The home has 2,845 square feet on thee levels, which includes a fully finished, walk-out basement.
Within the private, gated community, the owner has access to several common areas that provide easy access to both the Big Su as well as the Kashwitna River. Public fishing areas nearby can be crowded during the peak fishing season but you will have direct access to private land that only owners can use on the Kashwitna River. Fish in the rivers include chinook(king) salmon, coho(silver) salmon, pink(humpys) salmon, chum salmon, dolly vardon trout, and giant-sized rainbow trout.
The walk to the Kashwitna River is just 5 minutes and you will be fishing without crowds. You can also hike or ride your bike on the trails, also within the private, gated area for owners. Nearby rivers for fishing include Sheep Creek, Little Susitna, Montana, Deshka, and Willow Creek. For winter sports, this area provides premier snow machining(snow mobile for Lower 48 folks) territory as any of the rivers can be used as winter highways up towards the Talkeetna Mountains.
Wildlife is abundant, as you would imagine, This area is easy to get to, but it is as wild as you would expect Alaska to be with lots of moose, brown and black bears, fox, and others animals; bald eagles are a common site.
The town of Talkeetna is about a 25 minute drive north of the home. Talkeetna is known as the “Gateway to Denali” as it is the staging area for climbers from all over the world preparing for their ascent. This is a truly Alaskan town that is proud to be a bit weird. It has wonderful shops, restaurants, micro breweries, and tours of all kinds. It is a destination of many cruise ship passengers arriving in Anchorage.
This home is new and has never been lived in. I am happy to answer any questions you have, so please do not hesitate to give me a call. Steve
