This home is called “Star Haven” – a house with a view from every window. On one side, the kitchen merges to a large dining area separated by an open counter accommodating a couple of stools on one side. There is a built-in wine rack under this counter and to the side of it along the hallway a closed cabinet for stronger spirits.

The dining area has an extensive bay window looking out onto the landscaped yard. There is settee with huge drawers under the window. Off to the other wall there is a built-in cabinet.

To the other side of the kitchen there is an opening of good width over the counter offering interaction with anyone in the family room.

Along the hallway next to the kitchen an 8 ft pantry automatically lights up when either of the double French doors is opened.

Over the refrigerator area an extended open cabinet has been built for the storage of cookbooks easily reached with no effort. This cabinet has been divided lengthwise behind the books. This other space has a door to one side for more kitchen storage.

The window above the large deep sink looks out onto the pretty courtyard. This kitchen was designed for the person who enjoys practical cooking, whether for two or for twenty!

There is a formal dining room across from the kitchen. It is the Kinkade Room and has a recessed ceiling from which hangs a beautiful verdigris lamp with fan. The windows look out onto the miniature rose garden. The whole top of the wall along the entrance has a framed opening from which light pours in and gives the room an aura of simultaneous expansiveness and intimacy.

The family room also has a recessed ceiling with cove lighting. One wall has a built-in shelving unit. The corner fireplace is wood burning with a gas starter. It has a raised hearth for seating. The other wall is all window and looks into the sun room. The family room has two skylights with another one down the hallway.

Outside the sun room door there is an enclosed brick bin with a double door. It was built to hold logs and kindling for the fireplace – very close and convenient. There is about a cord of wood and kindling which will remain with the house.

The cozy sun room also has a full wall of windows on two sides. With morning sun and afternoon shade it makes a nice retreat for plants. It is the perfect room for having drinks before enjoying a barbecue under the covered pergola in the beautiful courtyard. The pergola has electricity running to it as well as a fixed barbecue grill underneath it.

“Star Haven” is a nice home for entertaining self, family, and friends. The picturesque grounds with fountains offer beauty and privacy while, even so, there are friendly neighbors all around.

The master bedroom is comfortably big. There is a narrow window above the bed which filters in light from the sunroom. It has two 6′ x 9′ walk-in closets – a his and a hers. The master bathroom has a good-sized linen closet, floor to ceiling and divided sinks. It also has a bidet, not very common but useful.

All the garages have a key pad and remote door opener.

A full laundry room splits off to one end. It has a folding counter with cabinets and drawers underneath and a sink. A big utility closet is adjacent to it.

The tool room is also off of the garage. It has a window on one end and an outside door with a window and screen on the other side. Another inside door closes it off from the garage. Plenty of space for a large tool table, tool chest and pegboard for hanging tools. It’s a spacious room with a fan and plenty of light in which to create, build, and fix!

Above the entire garage is a very big room ready to finish out. It could even be a suite. The attic side over the living quarters is also decked – LOTS of more storage. The house is foam insulated, including the walls, and very efficient with gas and electricity. All the rooms have fans, including three in the garage and one in the upstairs unfinished room.

The house is handicap accessible. All the hallways are 40″ wide and doors are also wider than normal. The light switches and lever door handles are lower, single-handle faucets, kitchen cabinets are at a lower level allowing normal reach to the top shelves. Even the gardens can be entered and enjoyed at ground level.

There is another smaller detached garage. It has electricity and a sink with running water. It would be a great place for a golf cart and a hand power-mower for the postage-sized lawn in front of the house. A few lawn chairs in there would be nice to sit and watch the neighbors on their riding lawn mowers, while sipping a cool drink…
